It's now been nearly 11 years since I began this project and I am still "seeking".Since that beginning, I have listened to peoples family history and I am now convinced, that we are all either related to those
ancestors from that town in Romania or the family name has been changed to "Juster" to suit the circumstances. Some people escaping the Germans in the second world war, actually took the name and carried it onwards. Quite a surprise to me, as there is obviously a strong Jewish section of the family.
The Juster name must truly have dominated the town of Pietra Nanuenz in the Region of Moldavia. Also the town called Lasi, seems been mentioned many times. Forgive me, I am not aware of the Geography but maybe they are linked. Perhaps someone who knows can inform me.
Anyway the theory is most previous Justers from Romania, migrated to all parts of the globe and sometimes didn't actually stray far from the major ports.ie. London, New York.
If you have any more information it would be gratefully received and published here, thank you

| Tina Juster: Hello to all the Juster's out there! My father's name is Lawrence Juster. We had one other Juster besides myself, my father, and my sister, here in New Orleans, Louisiana and he has since passed away. His name was Kenneth Juster. We have been looking for my dad's father for a long time and we do not know who he is. We have no idea where to trace our Juster roots back too. If you can help or anyone knows, please e-mail me. Thanks, this site is great! March 3, 2009 12:06PM Sender email: tjuster@yahoo.com "I just checked out the website and told my dad to check it out. That is pretty cool, considering he is the only Juster left in New Orleans besides myself and my sister. That's crazy. Thanks!" | Valerie Juster Berman: Just receive this link from my first cousin Diane Juster. My father is Julian Juster and his brother is Mel (Diane and Rita's father). Their father's (Abraham) mother and father Rachel and Max were from Romania. My grandfather Abe, was born in the United States in 1895 so I imagine Rachel and Max came here sometime before that. My sister Nancy and I both live in New York. There are no Justers remaining from Abraham's side though he did have a number of brothers. One of his brothers has grandsons that I know of living in New York with the last name Juster; Gary and Howard Juster. They have a sister Ann. Their father Martin is deceased. | David Well, I am not a Juster, just for a change. However, a Juster family travelled to Australia with my great-grandfather and his family in October 1885. Recently, I decided to try to chase down the families from that ship, specially those whose members had signed my great-aunts' autograph books. Have a look at http://chyebassaoct85.blogspot.com/ for some of the information I have found on that particular Juster family. I have more information, and am in touch with one family member. To find out about one illustrious Australian Juster, do a Google search on "Marle Juster". http://www.photosau.com/RedcliffeLibrary/scripts/ExtSearch.asp?SearchTerm=001403 shows the Juster children of Redcliffe - all in that photo are still living, some locally in Queensland and one in South Australia. I will let my Juster correspondent know about your website. Cheers Geoff | From: Rick Apple - rapple@HistoricSales.net To: david@justers.co.uk Subject: Juster from Minneapolis David – Never been to your site before, which is too bad… ‘cause its great. I’ve attached a small family tree for you (my grandfather was Jacob – Jack – Juster from Iasi); perhaps you recognize some of the names and could hook me up. One thing I can say for sure: James Juster, who had written to you a couple times, said he had a grandfather named Max (who went to Minneapolis) and a great-grandfather named Simon… which matches up perfectly with a “lost” portion of my family. Problem is, James’ AOL address bounces back. Do you have an updated address for him? Anyway, all that aside, I appreciate the great work. Thanks much; and please feel free to add me to any e-mail lists that you may maintain. Best, Rick Apple | |||||
| From: eric juster - ericjuster@hotmail.com Subject: My Juster Family Hello David, Just come across your site, I have been researching the Juster family and would like to tell you about my research, am I correct in saying that your family were from London? My great grandfather William Arthur Juster was part of a large family who lived in Wimbledon and the surrounding areas, Mitcham, Merton, Streatham all in and around the Surrey area. They were mostly all invloved in the Carpentry trade/Undertakers/Coffins Makers with a few of the ladies being in the Dress making trade. Would be interested to see what information you have with regards to your family to see if there is any connection we can work out? Hope to speak to you soon. Regards Eric Juster | From: marcia givers m.gevers@sbcglobal.net Subject: Justers My mother's mother was a Juster. The history I have found is that Jacob Juster and Michel Juster immigrated to the U.S. from Romania. Michel died in 1928. They had 9 children, Esther who was born in Russia and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota with her husband, Bernard Gottlieb, she died, from child birth complications when she had my mother, on April 19, 1918; George Juster; Morris Juster who married Ann Perkins; Dolly Juster; Charlie Juster who married Mary; Hyman Juster; Bessie Juster and her twin Rose Juster; and Rae Juster. I believe Esther, Morris, Charlie and Bessie all lived and died in Minneapolis. I think Rose and Rae movedfrom Minneapolis to California. My mother's name was Bessie. She named my sister after her mother, Esther. I believe there were Justers who moved to Israel as I remember my mom sending care packages to them. I think their last name was Ruder. I would love to hear from Justers from this line. Marcia Gevers | |||||
